Defendant, John Hayes, was charged in the instant matter by bill of information with three counts of forgery in violation of La. R.S. 14:72 (district court case number 07-98-98). In separate bills of information, he was also charged with two counts of theft of a value over $500 in violation of La. R.S. 14:67 (district court case numbers 04-98-610 and 04-98-611), one count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling in violation of La.
