ANDREWS, Presiding Judge.

Roy W. McCoy II, the former building official of Griffin, and the plaintiff below, cross-appeals in Case No. A05A0056 from the trial court’s grant of defendant City of Griffin’s motion for summary judgment based upon failure to comply with the ante litem notice requirements of OCGA § 36-33-5. In Case No. A05A0055, Ron Rabun, the city manager of Griffin and also a defendant below, appeals from the trial court’s denial of his motion for summary judgment pursuant to our grant of his application to appeal. These appeals are considered together.
