International Finance Corporation instituted this action against LeRoy W. Rieger on his promissory note dated October 13, 1961, originally in the sum of $24,190 to Coin Operated Laundry Sales Company, a copartnership comprised of J. E. Whelan and Holland Williams. The whereabouts of Whelan and Williams was unknown to the parties at the time of the commencement of the trial and no service could be made upon them personally.
