CHRISTIE, Chief Justice.

The defendant/appellant, Wallace A. Zimmerman (“Zimmerman”), was convicted of arson in the first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a destructive weapon, and criminal mischief. The Superior Court sentenced Zimmerman to consecutive terms of imprisonment totaling eight and one-half years for the first three offenses, to be followed by six months of probation for the last offense. All four of the convictions arose from an incident in which a homemade pipe bomb was thrown into the home of the victim.
