This is an appeal from a judgment of conviction for auto theft, contrary to sec. 948.20(1) (a), Stats., and from an order denying the defendant’s motion for a new trial. The vehicle in question, a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer, was stolen in Chicago. Defendant was charged with and convicted of intentionally retaining possession of it without the consent' of the owner and with intent to deprive him permanently of possession. The case was tried, to a jury, which returned a verdict of guilty. The defendant was sentenced to one year in the Brown County Jail. Execution of the sentence has been stayed…
