WILLIS, Judge.

George William Richardson contends that the trial court erroneously dismissed as untimely his appeal from a juvenile court’s judgment in a commitment review hearing held pursuant to Code § 16.1-289. For the reasons that follow, we reverse and remand the case to the trial court.
