IiARMSTRONG, Judge.

Defendant, Lloyd J. Martin, and a co-defendant, Kedrick Byes, were charged by bill of information on November 28, 1995, in count one, with distribution of (crack) cocaine. Defendant was additionally charged in the same bill of information, in count two, with possession with intent to distribute (crack) cocaine. All offenses were violations of La. R.S. 40:967. Defendant was arraigned on January 31, 1996, at which time he pleaded not guilty as to both counts.
