Defendant was convicted of felony theft following a trial by jury and was sentenced to the Illinois State Penitentiary for not less tiran 2 nor more than 8 years. The only question on appeal is whether the evidence was sufficient to prove the essential elements of felony theft beyond a reasonable doubt.

The indictment charged: (1) that the accused knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property of another; (2) that the property taken had a value in excess of $150; and (3) that the accused acted with intent to permanently deprive the owner of the benefit of his property.
