By this writ we have laid before us the record of the proceedings had before two justices of the peace for this county on the statute of 1784, c. 8, directing the proceedings against forcible entry and detainer. The process was originally brought on the complaint of Caroline Dudley and others against Benjamin Dudley • and a verdict having been found against the said Benjamin, judg ment was rendered for the complainants to have restitution of the premises.
