CORRIGAN, J.

A jury convicted defendant Lester Wayne Virgil of murdering 22-year-old Soy Sung Lao during a doughnut shop robbery. The jury also convicted defendant of two other robberies, both committed with a knife and one accompanied by an assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, and found true a robbery-murder special circumstance. Because the penalty was set at death, this appeal is automatic.' We affirm the judgment.
