This action was commenced December 21, 1885, by R. H. Cooper, against M. F. Brinkman and J. E. Clark, partners as Brinkman & Clark, to recover four hundred fifty-seven dollars and thirty-seven cents upon certain promissory notes executed by them to Cooper. The notes were secured by a chattel mortgage. Several other parties were made defendants in the action, because of their interest in the property mortgaged.
