POSNER, Circuit Judge.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as successor in interest to a defunct Illinois state bank, the State Bank of Clearing, brought this suit against Braemoor Associates, a joint venture, and against five individuals who are the surviving joint venturers in Braemoor, seeking to recover bank monies that the bank’s president, Paul Bere, had funneled to Braemoor in breach of his •fiduciary obligations to the bank.
