The plaintiff, Robert Kelly, brought this action against the defendants, Richard Ogilvie, Jack Johnson, H. W. Olson, and Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, Inc. The complaint sought to recover damages in the sum of $100,000 on account of personal injuries allegedly sustained by the plaintiff while he was a prisoner in the county jail of Cook County, confined there pursuant to an order of the municipal court of Chicago.
