OPINION

ODOM, Judge.

This appeal is from a conviction for the offense of robbery by assault. Punishment was assessed by a jury at life imprisonment.

The record. reflects that, after the jury had been selected, appellant entered a plea of not guilty in open court. A hearing was held, out of the presence of the jury, on certain defense motions. At the close of the hearing, the trial court ruled adversely to appellant. The next morning, appellant elected to change his plea from “not guilty” to “guilty”.
