This is a suit to recover $593.89, plus interest from March 15, 1952, representing income taxes paid by the taxpayer for the year 1951.

Plaintiff, the taxpayer, worked as an administrative assistant to a road builder by the name of John L. Humbard in Ethiopia from April 22, 1951 until April, 1953, except for a short period that he was under treatment by doctors in the United States because of a hernia condition.
