This suit was filed in the court below by appellees to recover the sum of $536 against appellant for labor performed and material and supplies furnished by appellees, as a subcontractor, in constructing, overhauling, repairing, and finishing certain sheet metal work on a building in the fair grounds in the city of Dallas. It was alleged by appellees that on the 25th day of May, 1922, appellant employed appellees to perform the labor and furnish the material necessary to comply with said contract, and, for same, contracted to pay appellees the sum of $536; that said contract was performed on…
