In 2022, the Georgia General Assembly enacted House Bill 839 (2022) (“HB 839”), which provides a charter for and incorporates the City of Mableton within unincorporated Cobb County. Deidre White, Ronnie Blue, Judy King, Tanya Leake, and Robert Swarthout are citizens of Cobb County who reside within the limits of Mableton (“Appellants”).
