This is an appeal from a judgment in favor of Henry E. Antoine against Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft Corporation for damages for physical injuries.

The plaintiff was employed by the United States Navy as a civilian aircraft inspector and was assigned to the plant of the defendant corporation to inspect aircraft for defects before delivery to and final acceptance by the Navy. His duties required that he ascend a scaffold-like structure, called an "engine-stand", to reach the higher parts of airplanes. Defendant furnished such structures to be used in making inspections.
