Milton Pierce was indicted for the murder of Alice Royal, or Alice Roy, on December 26, 1928. He was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to imprisonment in the penitentiary for not less than five nor more than eight years. This is the appeal of the defendant, who relies on four hills of exception to obtain the reversal of his conviction.
