Simpson Paper Company (Simpson Paper) appeals the judgment entered against it on claims of age discrimination and breach of implied contract brought by a former employee, A. Deane Burnside (Burnside), following the termination of his employment by Simpson Paper. Bum-side cross-appeals the trial court's grant of a directed verdict in favor of Simpson on the issue of emotional distress.
