GREENE, Judge.
The plaintiff appeals the trial court’s order entered 31 July 1990 wherein the trial court granted the defendants’ directed verdict motion made at the close of the plaintiff’s evidence.
The evidence viewed in the light most favorable to the plaintiff tends to show the following: On 31 January 1989, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., the plaintiff was driving to work on Bethlehem Road in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
