Defendant appeals from a judgment of conviction entered on a jury verdict finding him guilty of robbery (Pen. Code, § 211), assault with a deadly weapon (Pen. Code, § 245, subd. (a)) and possession of a concealable weapon by a felon (Pen. Code, § 12021). He raises a question of first impression in this state as to whether he was deprived of his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination as a sample of his hair was obtained, admitted into evidence, and used by a prosecution expert.
