In an action to recover damages for personal “injuries, the defendant appeals, as limited by his brief, from (1) so much of an order of the Supreme Court, Suffolk County (Gowan, J.), dated October 26, 2000, as denied *697that branch of its motion which was to dismiss the complaint on the ground that the notice of claim was defective, and (2) from an order of the same court (Pitts, J.), dated January 2, 2001, which also denied that branch of its motion which was to dismiss the complaint on the ground that the notice of claim was defective.
