The plaintiff, Chicago Housing Authority, brought an action in forcible entry and detainer to recover possession of an apartment occupied by defendant, Mytra Taylor. Defendant filed a motion to dismiss the complaint, asserting that the plaintiff had waived its right to pursue the action when it served defendant with a second notice and demand for rent and a second complaint.
