Appeal from trial term, Westchester county. Action by Edward F. Brush against Arthur F. Blot for libel. From a judgment for §500 damages, and §146.18 costs, entered on a verdict in favor of plaintiff, and from an order denying a motion for a new trial, defendant appeals. Affirmed.

The action is for alleged libel, founded upon an article published in the newspaper known as “Mount Vernon' Hews.” The article was of considerable length, and contained matter defamatory in character against plaintiff. The defendant, by his answer, admits the publication; denies that the matters so published were false, or that they were published maliciously.
