These consolidated cases, transferred to the Southern District of New York by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on February 27, 1984, arise out of the sale by insurance company subsidiaries of Baldwin-United Corporation of certain contracts known to the Court as single premium deferred annuities (“SPDAs”).
