On May 29, 1964, both appellants were tried in the Criminal Court of Baltimore, before Judge J. Harold Grady, without a jury, under pleas of not guilty to various charges. The ap pellant Racey Wayne Crowe, was found guilty of receiving stolen goods of the value of $72, and of escape from the Maryland House of Correction. The appellant James R.
