POSNER, Circuit Judge.

Eastern Trading Company, a partnership located in Dubai that trades gold and silver bullion in large quantities, brought this suit against two commonly owned corporations — Refco, Inc., a Chicago commodities broker, and Refco Capital Corporation — charging fraud and related misconduct in violation of the Commodity Exchange Act, 7 U.S.C. §§ la et seq., and the common law of Illinois.
