Appeal *832from an order of the Family Court of Delaware County (Estes, J.), entered September 12, 1997, which granted petitioner’s application, in a proceeding pursuant to Family Court Act article 6, for modification of a custody order.

The parties are the parents of two children, a boy born in 1988 and a girl born in 1991. The parties separated in 1993 and an order of Family Court entered April 25, 1994 awarded them joint custody of the children, with respondent having physical custody.
