Defendant/appellant, Alton Placide, Jr. (“Placide”), was charged with one count of aggravated burglary in violation of La. R.S. 14:60, and two counts of possession of a firearm after having been previously convicted of a felony in violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1. Pursuant to a motion to quash, the bill of information was later amended to charge him with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, along with the aggravated battery charge.
