^Defendant, Anthony Paul Caminita, was charged by a felony bill of information with theft of goods amounting to a value of $500.00 or more, but less than a value of $1,500.00, a violation of La. R.S. 14:67.10. He pled not guilty and, following a jury trial, was found guilty as charged. Thereafter, the state filed a habitual offender bill of information, alleging four prior felony convictions.1 Defendant initially denied the allegations in the habitual offender bill.
