I. INTRODUCTION

Ritchie Smith (“Smith”) brings this action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §§ 405(g) and 1383(c)(3), seeking this Court’s review of the decision of the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration (the “Commissioner”)2 denying Smith both disability insurance and Supplemental Security Income benefits (collectively, “benefits”). Compl. ¶ 1; ECF No. 1. Smith contends that the Commissioner’s decision applies incorrect legal standards and is not supported by substantial evidence. Id. ¶ 7.
