This suit was brought by appellant against appellee to recover the sum of $1,000, represented by a benefit certificate issued to John W. Williamson, deceased, on the 2Sth day of May, 1908, as a member of Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal beneficiary society, made payable to his wife, Clara Williamson, who was designated therein as the beneficiary. It was alleged that John W. Williamson and Clara Williamson were divorced on or about the 25th day of January, 1917, and were never remarried; that on the 16th day of October, 1918, John W.
