SEVERENS, Circuit Judge.

By this suit the plaintiff, Knox, sought to recover from the Walker Manufacturing Company compensation for services which he claimed to have rendered the defendant during the year 1895 under circumstances which are alleged to have been substantially as follows: The defendant was a corporation• of Ohio, engaged in the manufacture and sale of electric street railway apparatus, and having its business office at Cleveland. It was desirous of introducing its apparatus into European markets. The plaintiff was an expert electrician in the employment of a street railway…
