This proceeding is one which arises upon a petition filed in this court by Lee Yuen, a Chinese merchant domiciled in the city of San Francisco, state of California. The petition is filed on behalf of his minor son Lee Sher Wing, and alleges that said minor is unlawfully restrained of his liberty, and prays for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus for the purpose of releasing him from such imprisonment.
