— Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Queens County (Finnegan, J.), rendered March 23, 1988, convicting him of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, crimi*710nal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree (two counts), upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence. This appeal brings up for review the denial, after a hearing (Gallagher, J.), of those branches of the defendant’s omnibus motion which were to suppress physical evidence and statements made by him to the police.
