—In an action to recover damages for personal injuries, the plaintiff appeals, as limited by his brief, from so much of an order of the Supreme Court, Dutchess County (Pagones, J.), dated October 20, 1999, as, upon the granting of his motion for summary judgment on the issue of liability and upon a partial jury verdict on the issue of damages, denied his motion, in effect, pursuant to CPLR 4404 (a) *405to set aside the verdict and for a new trial on the issue of damages.

Ordered that the order is affirmed insofar as appealed from, with costs.
