[^Defendant, Ron Daniel Underdonk, was charged by bill of information with one count of attempted aggravated rape (Count 1), in violation of La. R.S. 14:27 and 14:42, and one count of aggravated kidnapping (Count 2), in violation of La. R.S. 14:44. At his arraignment, defendant pled not guilty. After a trial by jury, defendant was found guilty as charged on Count 1, and he was found guilty of the responsive offense of second degree kidnapping, a violation of La. R.S. 14:44.1, on Count 2.
