This appeal concerns the third petition for a writ of habeas corpus filed by the petitioner, Michael J. Jarrett, and its protracted procedural history. The petitioner appeals from the judgment of the habeas court denying in part and granting in part his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. On appeal, the petitioner claims that the court improperly found that he did not receive ineffective assistance from counsel with respect to (1) his criminal trial and (2) the trial of his first petition for a writ of habeas corpus (first petition).
