COLLOTON, Circuit Judge.

Durius Davis pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon. See 18 U.S.C. § 922 (g)(1). In calculating the advisory sentencing guideline range, the district court 1 applied a base offense level of 24 after finding that Davis had two prior felony convictions for "crimes of violence" under USSG § 4B1.2(a). The court sentenced Davis to 63 months' imprisonment and specified that it would impose the same sentence under 18 U.S.C. § 3553 (a) even if it had wrongly decided the "crime of violence" issue.
