WOOD, Circuit Judge.
In this case, we reach the denouement of the lawsuit that Dr. Joseph H. Leven-stein has been pursuing against three officials of the medical school of the University of Illinois located in Rockford, Illinois. When the case was last before this court, we affirmed the district court’s interlocutory ruling that the defendant university officials were not entitled to qualified immunity. Levenstein v.
