This is an original action in mandamus filed in the Supreme Court by the State, upon the relation of the Attorney-General, against the State Treasurer, to compel the latter to place in the permanent fund of the University of Texas, the sum of §1,594,562.15, which had, at the time the petition was filed, been paid to the Commissioner of the General Land Office of Texas for the benefit of the University by the lessees of oil and gas rights upon and under certain lands belonging to the University in Reagan…
