A jury convicted defendant of first-degree premeditated murder, MCL 750.316(l)(a); MSA 28.548(l)(a), first-degree felony-murder, MCL 750.316(l)(b); MSA 28.548(l)(b), and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). At the time of the offense, defendant was fifteen years old. After the jury convicted defendant, the trial court held a juvenile sentencing hearing as required by MCL 769.1(3); MSA 28.1072(3) and MCR 6.931(A) to determine whether to sentence defendant as a juvenile or as an adult.
