This is an action of ejectment for some two hundred and twenty acres of land situate in Jackson county. The land was patented to Albert W. Mason in 1836 and 1838. He conveyed the same to William M. Macey by a deed dated the seventh of February, 1846. The record discloses a' deed from Macey to Jacob Johnson, dated in March, 1846, but this deed was declared a satisfied mortgage by the proceedings hereafter mentioned. William M.
