David Ross Strohecker (appellant) appeals from his bench trial convictions by the Circuit Court of the City of Virginia Beach (trial court) of murder while attempting to commit extortion in violation of Code § 18.2-33, attempted extortion in violation of Code § 18.2-59, and use of a firearm in the commission of murder in violation of Code § 18.2-53.1.
