By ch. 92 of the Public Laws of 1905 the Governor was authorized to appoint a commission of three persons to be known as enforcement Commissioners. They were empowered to appoint deputies with authority to exercise in any part of the State all the common law and statutory powers of Sheriffs in their respective counties in the enforcement of the laws against the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors.
