On May 15, 2001, the Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a petition alleging that Z.S., a juvenile, committed an attempted armed robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:27:64. The juvenile denied the allegations in the petition on May 21, 2001. On June 28, 2001, an adjudication hearing was held before the juvenile court judge. After the presentation of the State’s case, counsel for the juvenile moved for a directed verdict, which was denied. At the conclusion of the hearing, the juvenile court judge adjudicated Z.S. delinquent of attempted first degree robbery.1…
