PIAMITER, Justice.

Involved here is the question of ownership of the Northeast Quarter of Section 30, Township 15 South, Range 9 East, Southwestern Land District of Louisiana, Parish of St. Mary.

In the petition, plaintiffs set forth their chain of title which commences with a patent issued by the State of Louisiana to one. D. B. Byrum of date February 12, 1900. Further, they averred that' the defendants also lay claim to the land by recorded titles, all of which are null, void and of no effect.
