Appellant was convicted by a Lowndes County jury of the offense of manslaughter and sentenced to a term of five years.

*180The evidence revealed that on November 6, 1981, Deputy Sheriff Julius Bennett of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department, received a radio dispatch directing him to the home of the appellant. On arrival, he found several people in front of the house, and his investigation revealed the body of a James Thorn on a bedroom floor, at the foot of a bed.
