WYNN, Judge.

Plaintiff filed a complaint dated 19 April 1990, alleging that decedent had loaned money to defendant upon defendant’s promise to repay the loans. The complaint alleged that plaintiff had made demand of defendant, but that no part of the loan had been repaid. Plaintiff sought to recover $94,520.00 plus interest. A summons was issued on 23 April 1990, but was returned with the notation that defendant was not served because she “[l]ives in Sampson County on U.S. 421 near Midway School.” Thereafter, an alias and pluries summons was issued on 2 May 1990, and defendant’s address was…
